Hyderabad, Pakistan – August 5, 2026: Supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) staged demonstrations in several cities across Pakistan on Wednesday, demanding the release of the party's founder and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan.
In Hyderabad, workers and supporters from different wings of the party gathered at Hyder Chowk carrying portraits of Imran Khan and chanting slogans calling for his release. The protesters later marched to the Hyderabad Press Club, where local PTI leaders, including Nazish Fatima, Faisal Mughal, Khawand Bux, and others, addressed the gathering.
Security was heightened during the demonstration, with a heavy police presence deployed along the protest route to maintain law and order. The rally remained peaceful, and no major untoward incidents were reported.
Speaking to supporters, PTI leaders said that Imran Khan has remained in jail for nearly three years and demanded his immediate release. They alleged that the cases against him are politically motivated and urged the authorities to ensure justice. The leaders warned that if their demands are not met, the party will expand its protest movement across the country in the coming days.
The demonstrations were part of a nationwide protest campaign organized by PTI to press for the release of its jailed leader. Similar rallies and gatherings were reported in other major cities, where supporters reiterated their demand for his release and called for what they described as the restoration of democratic and constitutional rights.
